in water i find such peace of mind and so i'm drawn to the lake everyday i feel if i go there enough i might lose myself or become a wave
in free time i fill it with that which has no surface value alone or with pals you keep moving by watching the moon or sitting in sunlight avoiding your work life
in stillness i've reached a comfort with nowhere to be my body is free i reach for the earthly pleasure as long as my idle hands keep moving
and for a month straight i got high everyday and biked by the lake or found a new place that i could take her back to
aimlessly walking around the forest for hours two days in a row and sleeping in my car and drinking in my car
talking for hours with a woman who hasn't left her town we both are waiting for nothing
and for years straight i will slow down the pace for finding my home so everywhere i go i can set my things down

Honest Measure
01:10
|
|||
leave when you want to
bracing you for me
all week i have walked for honest measure
that is what i need
and it breaks when i put my heart on the street

The Softest Corner
02:39
|
|||
you're speaking so easy
as if between your eyes you were reading
you convey such heat with the stream of light
that showed up on your cheek the softest corner it highlights
i need to do better for you
start reading and using this weather for good
there's one time of year i feel the bluest
and i'm so grateful it just passed by
in spring i'll be reborn but i may lose it
but only for a while
they come back so sweetly each time they go
darting so peacefully
you convey such heat with the stream of light
that showed up on your cheek the softest corner it highlights

Wear Yer Skin Tough
03:37
|
|||
i find the cinematic aspects of my life to be nothing like i've seen in the movies
but i can still find them curiously moving
and if i walk around a place that we once went to would you feel it where you are now?
sentimentally scathing and unrecognizably cold took up my winter and the first month of the spring
wear yer skin tough
tan lines
with the bags under the eyes
show me that your character's endearing
i'll keep that in mind when i set out tonight
and if walk around a place i've never been to that will prove the passage of time
sentimentally scribing for use at a later won't waste my summer or the first month of the year

Diversey - 31st Street
02:14
|
|||
your compassion i've learned was a lie
that's alright, i'm doing just fine
'do we have to talk about this now?'
that's all i've heard from you for a while now
from diversey to 31st street
and back again

Rearrange My Memories
02:00
|
|||
i've long since abandoned and i find that i feel great
and i forged my walking shoes with scissors that i used to cut the tape
and fall into make believe
and rearrange my memories
and splice better hues over my recollection
with common pleasantries that i've long since abandoned
and i planned it so constantly willing to let go
when i cut my self off like how you lie on my wrist and it turns purple and black and old and i get an infection and oh the needles how they fill my arm with such force and strength and i fall into make believe
and rearrange my memories
